The 4 HUGS Programs
HUGS community restores Human Dignity through our four programs (HEAL, UNITE, GATHER, and SPEAK UP).
Our child-first strategy is based on these four programs that are focused on meeting their goals of restoring the child's dignity through the different actors who relate directly to the child.

HEAL
Restoring the children's Human Dignity from the hurts and relational trauma of hard conditions like disabilities, orphanhood, and extreme poverty.
The Heal program intervenes directly with the child. This program is focused on meeting the child's needs and developing the child's full potential.

UNITE
Embracing the children in a Safe Family environment to develop their infinite human potential to thrive. (Small Community).
The Unite program empowers the family, the closest small community in which the child develops. A healthy family will raise a healthy child. An educated family will raise an educated child. A successful family will raise a successful child.
GATHER
Collaboration to quench the complex needs of vulnerable children with a complete approach and expanded influence in a Big Community.
We talk about schools, churches, other organizations that meet specific needs, their community, government, volunteers, and donors. If we promote a united front for the child, the dehumanizing circumstances will change, and the vicious cycle will be broken.

SPEAK UP
Raising Awareness and Culture change to be a voice for the voiceless to ensure justice.
The Speak Up program seeks to impact society and the system. It seeks that human rejection is seen again as the huge problem it actually is and that its consequences affect us all, mainly the most vulnerable children.
HEAL Program
Nutritious Lunches in Guatemala City
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:40
11,520 lunches were served from February to November at the new community center located in Zone 7 of Guatemala City. This represented an amount of $17,280.00 invested or $1.50 for each lunch served.
288 children in extreme poverty had the opportunity to receive a delicious and nutritious meal to which they would not have access on a regular basis, in many cases, never, due to the lack of opportunities their parents have due to working in the city's garbage dump.
"One of my favorite parts of HUGS community is the rich lunches they give us. Sometimes it's all the food I eat during the day, so I save some so I can eat it when I get home" José, 8 years old.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” Matthew 6:25
A total of 5,000 pairs of shoes, equivalent to a donation of $32,500.00, were given to 5,000 children and their families. Having new and comfortable shoes is one of the essential needs that HUGS community covers.

UNITE Program
Training and counseling for parents
“For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” Proverbs 11:14
Through the presence of experts in different topics, such as being parents of children with autism, counseling parents with children at high risk, making correct decisions, etc. Different trainings are provided to parents and direct caregivers so the children have a correct and healthy development in a safe family environment.

GATHER Program
Trust-based Relational Intervention - TBRI
“The discerning heart seeks knowledge” Proverbs 15:14
During the months of June to November, with an estimated donation of $1,500.00, 60 participants were trained to learn how to cope with and overcome the effects of trauma on the most vulnerable children in Guatemala through connection, empowerment and correction.
This training provides practical science- and faith-based tools that will enable participants and their teams to help the children they serve. The population of children benefiting from this TBRI training is more than 3 thousand children.
SPEAK UP Program
Vision trips - COME and SEE!
"Come and see the works of God, who is awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot; there let us rejoice in Him!" Psalm 66:5-6
At different times of the year, we receive visits from church and organization leaders, families, and other friends to talk about the significant needs in Guatemala and show them that the challenges are great but also to remind them that the Lord is good and faithful and is working in Guatemala through HUGS community by G2G Network.

MOBILIZATION
House Construction project in Chimaltenango

After two difficult years of uncertainty, we received our first Short-term Mission after the pandemic. A house was built for Aura, a faithful beneficiary of our programs in Chimaltenango.
She works at the local garbage dump. Her children have been part of education programs, lunches, and Christian values.
We thank the Lord for reopening the doors to have projects that bless those most in need.
